Lenten Efforts

The heart of our Catholic Faith is found in the Paschal mystery of our Lord. In other words, the heart of our faith is found in the Passion, Death, and Resurrection of Jesus Christ. Our whole faith and, consequently, the liturgical celebration of the Church, center on this fact which occurred two thousand years ago. By His Passion, Death, and Resurrection, the Savior redeemed us, saved us, and freed us from our sins. Since this mystery is so central, we easily understand the necessity of preparing ourselves adequately for its celebration. Let us ask our Lord to inflame our hearts with love and the desire to console His Sacred Heart during the hours of His Passion.

As we prepare our souls for the celebration of the great mysteries of our faith, we invite you to join our Lenten Almsgiving Campaign to support our mission among the lay faithful, and especially among the youth. The three pillars of Lent–prayer, fasting, and almsgiving–encourage us to reach beyond our own desires and offer hearts of sacrifice and penance to our Lord who offered His entire self for our salvation.
